The police at
Ejigbo division have begun a manhunt for a man who allegedly beat his 2-year
old son to death and buried him secretly in Lagos.
The suspect
identified as Oni Mama reportedly beat Deji to death while the boy was crying
and running after him in the morning.
The incident
happened at 5 Fashola Street, Ejigbo, Lagos, where the suspect resides.
Source
revealed that after the boy died in the presence of the neighbours, his father
packed the body into a sack and buried him secretly at an undisclosed location
in the area.
The suspect
was living alone with the victim because the mother abandoned him after she had
a quarrel with her husband. She went to marry another man.
Since then,
Oni Mama has been finding it difficult to cope with taking care of the boy and
at the same time going to work every day.
The neigbours
who saw what happened went to the Ejigbo Police Station and reported the
incident.
Before
the police arrived at the house to arrest Oni Mama, he had escaped on his
motorcycle and since then he had not returned home.
