EXCLUSIVE: TOOTHLESS BULL-DOG! EFCC IGNORES JUDGMENT ON PRINCE BAYO LAWAL (A.K.A BAYO WALE INVESTMENT) OVER HOUSE RENT FRAUD

For few years now, there has been a major problem about 419ers whom calls themselves, developers or care-taker, collecting money from lots of people over a few numbers of rooms in a particular house. Such cases is no longer news in Nigeria, Lagos in particular.

However, few years back, such case happened in 15, Shokunbi Street, in Mushin. One Bayo Lawal (A.k.a Bayo Wale Investment), a developer who build a two storey building with about 19flats and 7 shops and collected money from about 128 people.

However, after endless efforts from the defrauded tenants, Bayo was arrested and his case transfer to EFCC’s office. Few years after, judgment was giving as Bayo was sentenced to 5years imprisonment and restoration of N62,573,000.00 instead of the N100,000,000.00;

Here are the claims of the affected victims and their challenge against EFCC;

1.        The amount to be restituted to victims was N100,000,000.00 based on calculated in the plea bargain agreement form (Page 3) against N62,573,000.00 claimed  by EFCC in there publication in Daily Trust Newspapers dated on the 3rd February, 2014.

2.        It was said in there publication in Daily Trust Newspaper date on the 3rd of February, 2014 that restitution of N62, 573,000.00 which we have not been paid (Victims) since 28th of July, 2012 verdict given by justice Habeeb Abiru at Lagos State High Court, Ikeja against the backdrop of information printed in Daily Trust Newspaper by EFCC which was 25th of July, 2013 was the judgment delivered by justice Pedro at Federal High Court (TBS), Lagos Island. The implication of these means that EFCC is trying to outsmart the us (victims) by putting the wrong information to the public. Please read all the claims.

3.        As at now we, do not know the situation of things either EFCC is collecting the money and pocketing it or they have sold the 25 years interest at No 15 Shokunbi Street, Mushin Lagos, 14 Orobiyi Street, Oshodi Lagos, 55 Olaiya Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi Lagos and 20, Ogunkoya Street, Oshodi Lagos. To the estate management and we have not be restituted according to the plea bargain in the court of Justice Habeeb Abiru as at 28th July, 2012.

Now that good judge with integrity has been promoted to Federal Court of Appeal, Abuja. This indicated that the judgment of our lordship Justice Habeeb Abiru of Federal Court of Appeal is not been uphold by EFCC. 

4.         The last-time we spoke with Asset for forfeiture department of EFCC in Abuja, contact person Mr. Lawrence, he told us that all the judgment delivered by His Lordship Justice Habeeb Abiru at federal Court of Appeal, Abuja of plea bargain by Prince Bayo Lawal (Bayowale Investment) and Femi Johnson and her Lordship Justice Pedro of federal High Court (TBS), Lagos Island has not been carryout according to the judgment of these two brilliant judges in Lagos State. This implies that justice is being truncated, denied and not been enforced by anti – corruption crusade of EFCC. 5.        The executives representing the victims of fraud by Prince Bayo Lawal (Bayowale Investment) and Femi Johnson, EFCC asked them to stand in proxy for the victims and signed on their behalf that the agreement will be carried out to the later that the victims will be restituted according within short period of 3 months, which till now, we have not seen a dime. This confirm, reaffirm that statement made by Nuru Ribadu that EFCC is a toothless Bull-Dog that cannot been match with their words.

6.         We the victims of No 15 Shokunbi Street, Mushin Lagos, 14 Orobiyi Street Oshodi Lagos, 55 Olaiya Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi Lagos and 20, Ogunkoya Street, Oshodi Lagos. To restitute us all the money defrauded by Bayo Lawal (Bayowale Investment) and Femi Johnson back to as or face further bitter actions but at Local Level, continent of Africa and international affiliate to human right commission will be intimated with human right abuse and abuse use of power by EFCC will be reported which we know that EFCC know the implication of these to fight corruption at the local level, continent and international community as it may be. 7.        It is disgraceful that a case that has been on since on the 12th January, 2009 till date has not been concluded in Nigeria despite the fact we are celebrating centenary birth of our great nation of Nigeria of upholding the judgment, the free and fair trails of the greatest real estate fraud stars (Bayo Lawal and Femi Johnson) in the anal of history of great nation Nigeria.

In conclusion, we are appealing to President Ebelle Goodluck Jonathan (GCFR) to come to our aid has EFCC as turn in lackadaisical attitudes towards this case.
