Special Task Force's Policeman Allegedly Rapes 4-Year-Old Girl In Jos

A policeman attached to the Special Task Force (STF) on Jos crisis, Mr. Damudu Bzigu, has been accused of raping a four-year-old girl in Kassa village of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

He was said to have lured the minor to a STF makeshift tent in the village where he allegedly raped her.

Confirming the incident to reporters yesterday in his office, the chairman of the local government area, Hon Emmanuel Loman, said: “The girl has been bleeding profusely and she is currently receiving treatment at the Barkin Ladi General Hospital. It is sad that  some soldiers posted to restore law and order have abandoned their duties for something else, otherwise what has restoring order got to do with defiling a minor.

“This is not the first time this kind of thing is happening. We are therefore calling on parents to monitor their children.”

He called on the commander of the STF to ensure the prosecution of the errant policeman, adding that the local government will also follow the case to its logical conclusion.

Also, the medical officer of the general hospital, Dr. Bapigang Willams Audu, told reporters that the minor was yesterday rushed to the hospital and from results conducted so far, there was forcible penetration resulting in the breaking of her hymen.

However, obviously embarrassed by the conduct of their colleague, soldiers of Sector 7 headquarters of STF in Barkin Ladi harasses reporters who had gone to get details on the incident.
