Barely a week
after the death of the Aare Musulumi of Yoruba Land, Alhaji Arisekola Alao, one
of his wives, Jellilat, popularly called Iya Abullahi, is dead.
Sources revealed
that she died Tuesday in auto crash.
Details of the
incident were sketchy at the time of filling this report but it was gathered
that the woman will be buried later Wednesday 2 July.
However, we gathered
that the woman separated from Arisekola over 20 years ago.
According to a
family source who confirmed her death, “it is a sad development. Yes, the woman
died. I have just been told but do not have the full details.
“Let me put
the record straight. The woman we are talking about, I don’t know whether she
was Baba’s wife or not. Yes, she had a child for Baba but they had been
separated for over 20 years.
“She was
selling clothes in one of the markets in Lagos. So with her status in
Arisekola’s house, I don’t know whether to refer to her as Arisekola’s wife.
