LOLAR SHON STAGES FASHION FUSION CONCERT SEASON V …GBENGA ADEYINKA, 2FACE, WEIRD MC, MC ABBEY ETC SET TO PERFORM

 She’s industrious, a house hold name, married with kids, very intelligent and reliable. Lolar Shon started her career, organizing show and now she’s into fashion designing. Idris Bello aka Shybell speaks with the slim, tall and humble damsel on her career, family and business. Sit back and enjoy the interview…

Can we meet you please?

My name is Lolar Shon. A fashion designer, make-up artist and a publisher.

Heard you have a two-in-one-event coming up, how true?

Yes! Comes 6^th of July, 2014, Civic Centre, Victoria Island, We’ll be launching the Fifth edition of my fashion show, and the re-launch of my fashion catalog. Afterward, there will be an after party at Cresendo, Ikeja, which is to celebrate my 30^th birthday.

How has the journey been so far?

It’s the grace of God. I’ve been in the industry since 2000, where I started DTD Jamz show and we took it up from there. I later ventured into make-up. I’ve done make-up for the likes of Tee-A, Gbenga Adeyinka etc… almost everybody in the entertainment industry I’ve worked with. Meanwhile, I took a break to have kids and now am back.

 That means you are married, who are you married to?

(Laugh) I don’t want to talk about my husband… so that those girls will not come and take him away from me.

Okay, so what’s your event line-up like?

It’s a fashion concert. Definitely, there will be music, comedy and fashion. Derenle Edun and Loral Ikeji (Linda Ikeji’s sister) will be handling the red carpet while MC. Abbey and Doris Simeon will be hosting the event proper. We have the likes of Gbenga Adeyinka 1^st, Omobaba, Owen Gee, Bash, MC Ajele cracking us up. And  2face Idibia, Weird MC, Azizat, Patoranking, Oritse Femi, Karate Kid, Brain, Fullstop performing on that day. Designers for that day are; Lolar Shon, Alabi Couture, Jim Brooks and Bibire.

Out of the whole designers in the country, why these selected designers?

My reason is simple. These are the people we started together. These are the people who know the story; these are the people who understand where I’m taking fashion to. They are legend in the shadow, so am bring them out of their closet.

We’ve witness lots of fashion shows and they are all the same, what’s your own selling point or are you doing the same fashion show/fashion catalog like others?

The thing about us is that, all the designer’s pictures are exclusive. They are not internet nor copied photos. All about designers are creatively coined by us. We are bringing in all things that have been lost in the fashion industry, the likes of Damas, Velvet, Aso Oke etc.

Will there be fashion parade?

Yes, known and unknown faces. As a matter of fact, our ushers are plus size models. We are not using the normal skinny, tall, light girls because everybody is fashionable.

Entrance for the fashion show?

Yes, just to curtail the rush and to make the event exclusive, we are doing Common Class for N5000, Business Class-N10,000 and First Class is strictly by Invitation.
